Ella Taal
After studying Legal Political Science at Leiden University, I became internal consultant sustainability at Royal Ahold. After 4 years of working experience as an internal consultant and trainer of communication and negotiation techniques for works councils, I found that I had sufficient work experience and grounding to start my own company. At the age of 31 I started my first organizational consulting firm 'Second Nature Management Consultants' specialized in optimizing the human factor in companies (and organizations) and became an entrepreneur (1996).
I inherited entrepreneurship from my mother, who was also self-employed and managed to combine entrepreneurship with motherhood effortlessly. During my entrepreneurship I also became a mother of three daughters (now 26, 24 and 21 years old). In September 2011, after a management buy out, I founded Awareness in Business, specializing in transforming Teams. Together with partners, I work to transform countless teams into self-aware teams to drive better results.
My passion is to contribute to the transformation of teams, where the people working in these organizations show the best of themselves from their intrinsic motivation (talents and their own purpose) and experience more happiness in the workplace for a good work-life balance. I can guide people to the next level of consciousness from their intrinsically motivated potential.
Privileged I feel when I see my work and energy contribute to greater awareness and positive change in individuals and teams in organizations.
For over 25 years I have experience as an independent (team) coach, trainer and organizational consultant for various clients such as PwC, DSM, Ahold, Boskalis, Prinses Maxima Centrum, Aeson Solutions, Ministry of VROM, Social Affairs and the Public Prosecutor. I am also certified as a DISC and Motivation Factor practitioner, instruments that I use at the beginning of a coaching or leadership development program.
Since 2012 I have also been working in the Dutch Caribbean. I lead team development projects and change processes for various clients such as the Port of Sint Maarten, Sint Maarten Medical Centre, Sint Maarten Government, Oyster Bay beach resort and Police Force Curaçao, Bonaire, Aruba and Sint Maarten.
In 2021, I started my podcast series Ella's Table Talks, about many aspects of Personal and Business Growth in the turbulent times and complex world we live in. Each time I host a new inspiring guest at my kitchen table to engage in dialogue on topics such as: Team Development, Leadership, Sustainability, Efficient Operations and Awareness. Season 2 is now available to listen to on Spotify and viewable on our YouTube channel.
